Consumers of RBS/NatWest have been unable to use mobile banking solutions on Friday following the system was hit with its latest IT glitch.

An RBS and NatWest spokesman explained clients had difficulty accessing mobile banking amongst 8.30am and two.30pm. The glitch also affected Ulster Bank buyers.

The spokesman stated: “All companies are back up and working as typical. We apologise for the inconvenience brought on.”

It is the most current in a string of program-broad IT failures that have affected the banking group, which announced earlier this month that RBS and NatWest mobile banking apps recently saw the highest ever amount of logins in a week, at just underneath 17.4m.

Individually, Lloyds, Halifax and Financial institution of Scotland buyers were unable to entry the payments technique through the banking group’s on the web and telephone banking method.

A Lloyds spokesman explained: “We are mindful that a tiny number of clients skilled troubles accessing payments this morning. The issue has now been rectified and we are functioning with those consumers who had been affected.”

RBS/NatWest customers expressed their frustration on-line.

“Listen right here Natwest, it really is not beneficial banking when your mobile app is often down,” a single consumer wrote on Twitter.

“Adore it when the natwest app decides to break on payday…” posted one more buyer.

Twitter: NatWest Aid – Thanks for your persistence as we operate to resolve a Mobile Banking problem. All other solutions are functioning as standard, which includes On the internet Banking.

Its worst technical disaster was in the summertime of 2012 when hundreds of thousands of buyers had been locked out of their online accounts for up to a month. RBS spent millions compensating people impacted.

The ongoing glitches are embarrassing for RBS, which announced final year that it was cutting one,400 jobs in its retail arm to focus on investing in mobile and on the web solutions rather.
